I don’t know why it took me so long to start making the kids smoothies for breakfast. I guess it is because I had a decrepit old blender, and finally replaced it. As with oils, sugars and other sweeteners were an important target in cleaning up my pantry. I had been using Florida Crystals and Turbinado sugar, thinking they were better than plain white sugar. Apple Tea is an excellent health tonic made with raw honey (preferably local) and unfiltered apple cider vinegar. It is good for helping to fight off viruses, as well as for allergies. I am not sure why it works, but possibly something to do with changing your pH balance (the vinegar) and the local pollens and other natural soothing and health-promoting properties of honey.
